OAI

The OAI plugin uses the Open Access Initiative standard to display OAI-compatible sets and records in Joomla!.

Plugin Configuration

You will need to specify default connection settings to point to a OAI-compatible end point.

Navigate to the JCar - Oai plugin's settings using the Plugin Manager.

Under "Plugin", set the OAI URL. The OAI url specified must point to the top level /request endpoint, so, for example, if you obtain records from http://my.repo.tld/oai/request?metadataPrefix=oai_dc&verb=ListRecords, the /request endpoint will be http://my.repo.tld/oai/request.

You can also specify whether the JCar - Oai plugin should display file downloads as well as metadata by setting Enable Downloads to Yes. Your OAI source will need to support the OAI-ORE standard for this feature to work.

Additional display options available include:

Exclude Bundles: Do not show particular groups of files. For example, you can stop JCar from displaying thumbnails and license text files. Separate multiple bundles using a comma.

Article Embed Code Options

Additional options can be passed to the JCar - Oai plugin when using the {jcar} embed code, allowing for per-article configuration. These options include:

OAI Url: Change the location of the archived item by pointing the OAI Url to a different archive.
